We at Great Lakes Glasswerks know that the successful function of machined quartz depends on three things:

We start with ultra-pure, semiconductor grade GE Quartz, which will undergo computerized cutting, milling, grinding and drilling to achieve and dimensions that you require. Finishes from a fine Blanchard grind to a clear-polished finish are accomplished through a series of lapping and polishing processes.
At Great Lakes Glasswerks, we have the capability to cut almost any shape and size quartz plates and tubes. Whether we are working from a rough sketch, a detailed drawing or a written description, the combination of our equipment, fixturing and craftsmanship assures you that the part you order will meet your requirements for quality and value. We can be sure you have the right quartz for your application, or we can cut material supplied by you and your specifications.
High-Volume Doesn’t have to mean Low-Quality
Great Lakes uses a proprietary process to wet-cut smaller bore (3mm. OD to 13mm. OD) tubing and rod that results in a finish far superior to the customary score and snap technique employed throughout the industry. You will see higher yield, and less failure due to mechanical stress caused by the minute fissures and uneven cuts that are characteristic of the score and snap method.
High-Volume Cutting: Great Lakes Glasswerks specializes in small bore (1mm to 10mm) volume cutting. We offer traditional score and snap ends along with a proprietary wet-cut process that yields a cut of visibility higher quality at a competitive price.
High Volume Angle Cutting: We are one of the few, if not the only, glass tube cutting facility that offers bulk pricing on specialized, small bore angle cuts. We can cut the jobs that othre companies "no-quote."
